It's a rainy day in my town today. A perfect time to meditate, talk via messenger and post on blogs. Since my OS crashed a few days ago and right now I am reinstalling my Creative Suite I'm not going to write a tutorial or anything like that. Today its all about the person who learns photoshop, not what it learns.

What exactly do you want to learn? How will you do it? Have you ever thought about it? Is it web design? Is it photo editing?Is it both? You should have the answer to this! If you don't...then I'm sorry for you :). Just joking! What I'm trying to say here is that you need a learning plan, and I'd be glad to show you mine.

My plan was simple. I wanted to learn photoshop because I liked to make buttons and interfaces for different things like small web pages etc. I thought that I needed a teacher. I couldn't get one! So...I improvised and got a nice learning system. Here's what I've done:

• Decided I have to learn on my own.
• Used Google and forums to get a huge list of photoshop tutorials sites.
• Surfed the internet, bookmarked all the sites that had a cool design.
• Started to learn the basics on my own, playing and making a lot of mistakes.
• Learned to study first, then apply. Thats when I started reading tutorials.
  
• Started to waste time on step by step tutorials that didn't explained much of the things that were done and why was exactly that procedure needed.
• Observed that I can pick a task and then try to find the way to do it. This helped me a lot! Knowing where you want to go is a grate deal!
• Ended up doing some stuff instinctively ( that means being creative in my opinion ).
• Started to blog about what I've learned.

I hope that you got the basic idea from what I've written here. Make a plan, and not just keep it,do it!

Next time I'll start writing about the basics of Photoshop CS3. I will try an original approach, and I hope you guys will love it :D
